What is ConfigMgr SCCM V Packs or Extensions for Windows Intune

Few days ago, I’ve asked the following question on Facebook page and Facebook group. I didn’t get any correct answer so I thought of putting a post about SCCM V Packs. Brad Anderson explained about SCCM V Packs in the following pod-casts. “The bridge/ The connector / The path” that Microsoft has created between SAAS (Cloud) application like Intune and SCCM 2012 is called SCCM V Packs. As microsoft makes NEW update in the intune  infrastructure we can develop or create SCCM V Packs (it’s just DATA) that SCCM V packs is automatically downloaded into SCCM infrastructure which is integrated with Intune and SCCM admin console is automatically updated in data driven way to reflect the new capabilities which is enabled in the Intune. Official name of SCCM V pack is Extensions for Windows Intune in SCCM console (SCCM and Windows Command Line Shortcut to Launch Control Panel Tools Applets via CPL files) !!

Extension for Windows Intune

SCCM V Packs Extensions for Windows Intune is data driven model where Microsoft Intune can push down descriptions and data from intune down into SCCM 2012 infrastructure. SCCM Configmgr 2012 admin console automatically updated to expose the new capabilities that organization and individuals  can use for managing new version of Mobiles OSs.
