SCCM 2012 SP2 and ConfigMgr 2012 R2 SP1 New Improvements and Updates

Don’t get confused with the title of the post. It’s true that Microsoft is going to release two Service Packs for SCCM /ConfigMgr 2012 !! The First Service Pack is for SCCM 2012 SP1 environments and it would be called SCCM 2012 Service Pack 2 (SCCM 2012 SP2). The second Service pack is for SCCM 2012 R2 environments and it would be called SCCM/ConfigMgr R2 Service Pack 2 (SCCM 2012 R2 SP1). The features of both these service packs (SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 and SCCM 2012 SP2) are same as per the pretensions in the Ignite conferenceI think, Microsoft wanted to make all the SCCM 2012 enrollments into same level of features so that it would be easy to support and develop next versions of SCCM !!

ConfigMgr 2012 SP2 and SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 will be released by 14th May 2015

Update : Download and Upgrade SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 and SCCM 2012 SP2 without any Confusion

Does it support ADK 10 ? I mean install ADK 10 and then install SCCM 2012 SP2 ? will it support driver injection.

  2. Mike Bijl says:

No it is not stable. Within the task sequence the Powershell tasks are broken. A successfull powershell action will result in a 1 instead of a 0. This will break your task sequences. A workaround is using a commandline task with: powershell.exe -ExecutionPolicy ByPass -nologo -noprofile -file .
