System Center 2012 Operations Manager 2012 is available for download. General availability is announced by Microsoft here. Microsoft has made available the SCOM VHDs as well. This download consists of files that you extract into a single pre-configured VHD file for this System Center component. The VHD enables you to create a virtual machine to evaluate the different System Center components. Download VHDs from here
You don’t require MSDN or TechNet subscription for this download. This is available publically. Evaluation version is totally free. You just need to login with Windows Live id and start downloading eval version from HERE. More blogs about SCOM 2012 SP1 HERE. Eval version is available for SCOM or OpsMgr 2012 SP1 along with other private cloud products. Always start the download from IE. Even for Chrome and other browsers the download will work but I feel the better interface is IE for these type of downloads. SCOM 2012 Service Pack 1 has hit the GA (General Availability) milestone.
The interesting point is that you won’t find any separate download for SCOM or SCVMM 2012 SP1 etc. When you click on “GET STARTED NOW” button the entire private cloud bundle (AppController, SCVMM, DPM etc..) will start getting downloaded. If you’re planning to evaluate or download only ConfigMgr 2012 SP1 then cancel all the other downloads by just clicking on Cancel button in the download manager.
