How to FIX Windows Shortcuts are NOT working Issue
A few days back, my “.lnk” file association on Windows 7 system accidentally got changed to NOTEPAD.
The entire shortcuts are appearing with the NOTEPAD icon 🙂
The issue was frustrating. I was not able to do any of the shortcuts. If you click on any of the shortcuts, the NOTEPAD was getting opened with some ASCII characters in it 😀
I used to open the EXE files directly from the %Program Files% folder.
At last, I found the solution on Windows 7 TechNet Forum.
Just download the Registry Fix (here) and merge the .reg file with my registry.
Restarted the system. That is it, the issue is resolved, and ICONS are back to normal !!!
