Stop Windows from Downloading Third-Party Wizard Providers for Maximum Privacy using Intune
Most modern organizations choose to Enable this policy (which disables the feature) for many reasons. By disabling this feature (Enable Policy) allowing users to upload corporate imagery (which might contain sensitive data, whiteboards, or ID badges) to unmanaged third-party printing vendors creates a data leakage risk.
Third-party printing services often require users to create accounts and share personal/location data, which may conflict with an organization’s privacy or GDPR compliance standards. Organizations often prefer a “clean” OS experience, removing consumer-facing features that aren’t relevant to professional environment.
Example Scenario
An IT department is deploying 5,000 new laptops. They want to ensure that every device looks and behaves identically to reduce help desk calls (“Why does my computer show a ‘Print Photos‘ button but my colleague’s doesn’t?”).
By enforcing this via Intune, the IT team ensures that consumer-grade features don’t interfere with the professional interface.
