  • This setting helps organizations protect data and control devices using Intune.

Hey, let’s discuss about How to Manage Today View on the iOS Lock Screen using Intune. This policy controls whether the Today View is shown on the lock screen in the Notification Center on iOS devices. Today View shows widgets like calendar events, weather, news, and app shortcuts. By using this policy, admins can decide if users are allowed to see this information when the device is locked.

When this policy is disabled(set to false), the Today View is hidden on the lock screen. This means users must unlock their iPhone or iPad to see widgets and personal information. The policy works on devices running iOS 7 and later.

The main purpose of this policy is to protect user and company data. Widgets can sometimes show sensitive information, such as meeting details or messages. Blocking Today View on the lock screen reduces the risk of data being seen by someone else.

This policy is especially useful in work or shared devices. If a device is lost or left unattended, no personal or corporate information is visible on the lock screen. This helps organizations follow security and privacy rules.

The policy is also available for user-enrolled devices, which means it can be applied even when users enroll their own iPhones using Intune. This gives IT teams better control while still allowing users to use their personal devices safely.

How this Helps Supervised Devices

This policy helps supervised devices by improving security and control. When Today View is disabled on the lock screen, no widgets or work information are visible unless the device is unlocked. This protects company data if the device is lost, stolen, or left unattended, and ensures all supervised devices follow the same security and compliance rules set by the organization.

Create a Profile

To deploy a policy for iOS or iPadOS devices, first sign in to the Microsoft Intune admin center. Go to Devices and select Configuration profiles. Then click Create profile to open the profile creation window. Select platform and profile type from here. After that, click Create to begin configuring your new policy.
