Hi, Today I am thrilled to share with you about Microsoft Teams’ new announcement: New End Event Button in MS Teams to enhance Town Halls, Webinars and Meetings. At Enterprise Connect 2025, Microsoft showcased its latest Teams innovations, making hybrid work easier for businesses with improved communication and AI tools.
Microsoft Teams provides meeting recaps for webinars and town halls. Available with Teams Premium or Microsoft 365 Copilot, this feature offers AI-generated summaries, tasks, and speaker/topic lists for easier event review.
A new End Event button in Microsoft Teams allows organizers and presenters to officially conclude town halls, webinars, and structured meetings. Upon clicking the End Event button, attendees are notified that the session is over, and presenters are automatically moved back to the Green Room.
Teams Green Room is accessible on desktop, web (Edge and Chrome), and mobile (iOS and Android). But those using phone dial-in features may encounter voice prompt issues. Through this blog post, I will explain briefly about the new feature of MS Teams: End Event Button and Return to Green Room.

By utilizing the End Event button, organizers and presenters can effectively conclude town halls, webinars, and structured meetings, signaling the end to attendees and moving presenters to the Green Room.
Note: Mobile presenters and organizers will return to the green room, but they cannot end the event from their devices.

End Meeting
When a Teams event concludes, attendees are directed to the waiting room, while organizers and presenters remain in the green room for post-event discussions. If Manage mode is active, organizers and presenters are removed from the main stage, though they can disable this feature.
Notably, ending the event doesn’t disrupt any ongoing screen sharing, and organizers and presenters retain access to the backroom chat for continued communication.

Automatic Recording and Transcription Stop with Event Notification
When you select End event, the system will stop both the recording and the transcription. At the same time, users will receive a notification that the event has ended and the recording has stopped. This keeps organizers and participants informed about the end of the event and what actions have been taken.
