Exciting News! Intune Admins can enable Available Assignment Type for DMG and Unmanaged PKG App types on macOS. Microsoft is dedicated to introducing new features for Intune Users. Now, they have launched DMG and Unmanaged PKG Apps to enhance macOS.
Do you know what DMG and Unmanaged PKG Apps are? DMG is a file format used to install software on MacOS. It is similar to the .exe file format on Windows. MacOS supports different types of applications, and unmanaged PKG apps are one of them. They can be easily installed using Microsoft Intune.
With this update, admins can now use the “available” assignment type for DMG and unmanaged PKG apps on macOS. End users can easily browse and install these apps from the Mac Company Portal whenever they need them. This makes it simpler for users to find and install the software they require on their Mac computers.
This update will roll out on Microsoft Intune in June 2024. This feature will be generally available for end users very soon. In this article, I will explain more about an unmanaged macOS PKG app for Microsoft Intune.
