Let’s discuss how to Change Policy Assignments for Multiple Users using Microsoft Teams Admin Center. Microsoft Teams helps IT administrators control what users can do by using different types of policies. These include messaging, calling, meeting, and app setup policies.
Each policy controls certain features. Admins can set these policies for individual users or groups. But in large companies with many users, it’s much faster and easier to apply changes to many users at once using bulk assignment. This saves time and keeps things consistent for everyone.
The Microsoft Teams admin center makes it simple to set and manage various policies. For example, in one of our earlier posts, we covered the feature that allows message owners to delete their own sent messages. This setting is useful for giving users more control over their communication and supports privacy by ensuring that only the sender can remove their content.
In this post, you will find step-by-step information on how to change policy assignments for many users at once using the Microsoft Teams admin center. It explains how admins can easily select multiple users and apply the same policy to all of them in just a few clicks.

Edit Policy Settings for Selected Users in Teams Admin Center
To change the policy for specific users, start by selecting them from the list. Click the checkbox to the left of each user’s name. Once you’ve selected all the users you want to update, click on Edit settings at the top. This will open a panel where you can change their assigned policies.

Meeting Policy
You will now see the Edit Settings pop-up window. In this window, you can assign policies to one or more users at the same time. For example, you can choose a Meeting policy from the list. In our case, we selected a meeting policy and also added a setting called RestrictedanonymousAccess, which controls if people outside the organization can join meetings.

Assignment will Take Time to Take Effect
After you assign the policies, it may take some time for the changes to apply to the selected users. The updates don’t happen right away, so you might need to wait a little. Also, once the changes are made, you can’t undo them immediately. So it’s a good idea to double-check your selections before applying the changes.

Monitoring Status – Confirmation Message After Saving Policy Changes
After you apply the changes, you will see a message on the screen that says: “Your changes to the policy assignment for the selected users were saved.” This means the new policy settings have been saved successfully and will be applied to the users shortly.
