Setting Up MS Edge Homepage using Intune

This post targeted to see and learn about Setting Up MS Edge Homepage Using Intune. We will set up the MS Edge Homepage Using Intune. To enable this Policy, we will use the Configuration Profiles from Intune. Here first, we need to enable the specific policy, and then we need to give the URL of our choice, which we want to set as a Homepage.

The default home page URL is the page that opens when you click the Home button in Microsoft Edge. The pages that open when you start Edge are determined by the ‘RestoreOnStartup‘ policies. You have two options for configuring the home page. You can either specify a URL or choose to open the new tab page as the home page. If you select the latter, this policy does not take effect.

Enabling this policy prevents users from changing their home page URLs. However, they can still opt to use the new tab page as their home page. If you disable or do not configure this policy, users can freely choose their own home page unless the ‘HomepageIsNewTabPage‘ policy is enabled.

The “Configure the home page URL” policy is available on Windows instances that are joined to a Microsoft Active Directory domain or Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise instances enrolled for device management. This policy may not be accessible on other Windows versions or in different organizational settings.

Patch My PC

This policy is only applicable to Windows instances joined to a Microsoft Active Directory domain or Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise instances enrolled for device management. By understanding and applying these policies, you can control the default home page behavior in Microsoft Edge and manage user preferences for a consistent browsing experience.

Windows CSP Details HomePages

We will see Windows CSP Details for this Policy setting HomePages. To set a specific URL as the default home page, you can enable the “Configure the home page URL” policy. By enabling this policy, you can specify the URL that will be opened when users click on the Home button. Instead of setting a specific URL as the home page, you also have the option to set the home page to open the new tab page. If you choose this option, the policy for the home page URL doesn’t take effect.

  1. Is there a way to load the start page only in the main profile?
We have our intranet SharePoint page as the start page. Many employees use other profiles for customer business with other accounts and then have problems when accessing the other profiles.
    Is there an elegant solution?
