Steps for Enable Sync My Settings

Let’s look at the steps for Enable Sync My Settings in Intune. To start the configuration, open the Microsoft Intune Portal. Then go to Devices > Configuration > Policies > Create.

Create a Profile

To create a Profile, you must select the platform, Profile type, etc. Here, select the platform as Windows 10 and later and the Profile type as Settings Catalog. Click on the Create button.

To continue creating a Policy, you must create a Name and Description. The Name and Description can be made according to preference, but you should provide a relevant name and description to identify the policy later. The Name and Description can be entered on the Basic Tab.

Configuration Settings Tab

The Configuration Settings Tab is the Starting point for selecting settings. From the window below, you can choose settings from the Settings Picker. To do that, Click on the +Add settings hyperlink to get another window.

After clicking on +Add settings, you will get the Settings Picker. I will select the Sync My Settings policy from the Experience Category here. Click on Allow Sync My Settings.

After selecting the policy, it will appear on the Configuration Settings page. From this page, enable this policy. By default, this setting is enabled. Click on the Next button.

Scope Tag is the Next step in the Intune Settings Catalog Policy. This step is not compulsory to continue the policy creation; you can skip it. Click on the Next button.

Assignments Tab

The Assignment tab is designed to specify the group to which the Sync My Settings policy should be assigned. You can select any number of groups for this policy; no specific limit is mentioned for the number of groups you can choose.

  • Click on the +Add groups button under included groups.
  • Select the groups from the window and click on the Select button.
  • Then, the selected group is shown on the Assignment tab.
  • Click on the Next button.

Review + Create Tab

The Review + Create tab is used to finalize the previous steps for successfully configuring the policy. This tab shows every step in all the tabs. Click on the Review + Create button. Once you click Create, you will receive a notification confirming the policy has been created successfully.

After the success message, you can see the created policy on the Configuration page under Policies. This page shows the Policy Name, Platform, Policy type, last modified time, etc. Look at the window below for more clarity.

Monitor Status of Sync My Settings

To check the Monitoring Status of a created policy, Open the Policy from the Configuration tab. Before that, you must sync your device on the Company Portal to quickly configure the policy. Then, you will only get the successful Result on the Monitoring Status Page.

Client Side Verification – Event Log

You can check the Client Side verification, you can use the Event Viewer. To access the successful event log navigate to o the Application and Service LogsMicrosoft > Windows >Select the Device Management Enterprise Diagnostics Provider. Click on “Admin” to view the number of events.

Here i got the Success Event log on the Event ID 813. To easily get the result, filter the Event ID as 813. Follow the below screenshot.
