Hi, Today, I will explore the easy method of installing the Allway Sync App through the Intune Enterprise App Catalog App. Allway Sync is an application program that helps users back up and sync files between different devices. In this blog post, I will systematically explain its features and installation method.

Allway Sync uses innovative synchronization algorithms to sync data between desktop PCs, laptops, USB drives, remote FTP/SFTP and WebDAV servers, various online data storages, and more. It supports data compression and encryption. It combines secure reliability with an extremely easy-to-use interface. Allway Sync can also sync PC data with a Mac via Sync Gateway.

The Allway Sync App offers various features designed to enhance file management and data security. It allows users to synchronize multiple directories simultaneously, making it easy to keep important files up-to-date. Furthermore, Allway Sync enables synchronization and backup to a wide range of supported online storage services, FTP servers, WebDAV servers, and more, providing a comprehensive solution for data management.

Install Allway Sync App through Intune Enterprise App Catalog App

Intune’s Enterprise App catalog offers approximately 400 applications with the latest versions. Allway Sync can easily install through the Microsoft Intune Portal. To install Allway Sync App through the Intune Enterprise App Catalog App, first we should login in the Microsoft Intune Admin Center.

  • Go to Apps > All apps >+Add
  • From the App type section, Select Enterprise App Catalog App.
  • Click on the Select button

App Information

The App Information section is the first step in installing an application through the Enterprise App Catalog App in Intune. The Enterprise App Catalog app automatically displays relevant details when an app is selected in the app information tab, simplifying the installation process. The following list shows the procedute to select an app from the list.

  • Click on the Search the Enterprise App Catalog hyperlink.
  • Search Allway Sync app from the Select app default list.
  • Click on the Next

The Configuration tab displays the selected app’s details, such as Package name, Language, Architecture, and Version. The following table shows the details of Allway Sync Apps for your reference.

Selecting an app exposes automatically generated information, including the app’s name, description, publisher, version and logo. Mandatory fields, such as name and description, are marked with a red asterisk.

Adding the app’s logo, via the select image link within the app information section improves visibility and recognition on client devices. To add and logo, please follow the given steps:

  • Click on the Select Image link where a pop-up window will appears.
  • Click on the File symbol on the right side.
  • Select Logo image which is already uploaded on your device.
  • A notification will appear says that uploaded completed
  • Click OK.
  • Then you will get the Success notification on the portal and you can see the logo uploaded in the App Information tab.
  • Click on the Next button

Program and Requirements

The Program section displays the automatically generated installation and uninstallation commands required for Intune deployment. After clicking Next, you can proceed. The Requirements section for the Allways Sync app in Intune specifies installation prerequisites such as OS architecture and minimum OS version.

  • The Program and Requirements sections are defaulted. So we do not need to make any changes.
  • Click Next to move on.

Detection Rules and Scope Tags

The Detection Rules section allows you to determine whether an application is already installed and preventing duplicate installations on a single device. While optional, assigning Scope Tags provides a way to control administrator access to the application, limiting visibility and management based on assigned roles.

  • Both sections again are defaulted. So we do not need to make any changes.
  • Click Next to the another step.

Assignment

The Assignment tab is very important and should not be ignored. It decides which users or devices can get the app installation. To select these groups, click the Add Groups button next to the Included or Excluded links.

  • Click on the +Add group under included.
  • Select the group from the defaulted list of groups on your tenant and click on the select button
  • The selected group will be shown on the Portal
  • Click on the Next button
  • Here, I selected Test_HTMD_Policy

Review + Create

Before finalizing the installation, we can review all previously entered information thoroughly in the Review + Create section. This process ensures the accuracy of the details provided.

  • Click Add App to receive a notification confirming the application is created successfully.

Device Installation Status

The app will be installed on the assigned groups but may take about 8 hours to deploy. During this time, you can sync the app manually in the company portal.

  • To sync, go to Company Portal > Settings > Sync.

After syncing, you can view the app details on the overview settings page, including the publisher’s name, operating system, version, creation date, assigned status, and app package file.

The Device Installation section displays the current status of the installed app in Intune. If the app is successfully installed, it will be marked as Installed. If not, you may see statuses such as Not Installed, Failed, Install Pending, or Not Applicable.

End User Experience

Once the manual sync is complete, the app will be automatically installed on the workstation. To check the end-user experience, access the Company Portal on the client device. To verify the installation status, open the Company Portal and navigate to the Downloads and Updates section. There, you will see that the app has been installed.
