Transition Support and Guidance
Microsoft has partnered with Delinea, a CIEM specialist, to offer an alternative solution for customers needing continued CIEM functionality after Entra Permissions Management’s retirement. Delinea’s solution is similar to MEPM and offers broader Privileged Access Management and Identity Security features on its platform. Migration guides and datasheets are available at https://delinea.com/microsoft-ciem.

Microsoft Defender for Cloud users will retain CIEM features (permissions discovery and PCI) previously provided by Entra Permissions Management. These features will remain supported within the Defender CSPM plan, and Microsoft will continue to enhance them for CNAPP use cases.
