Microsoft 365 Group Driven Membership Management Support

Let’s check about the latest development in Microsoft 365 Group Driven Membership Management support. This upcoming feature will provide the ability for Group Owners to add a Security Group as a member of Microsoft 365 Group.

Microsoft has added a lot of exciting features to the roadmap, including Microsoft 365 Group Driven Membership Management support that are currently in development and testing phase. You may expect the public preview to be announced in 2023 and the General Availability GA by end of 2023.

The Security Group can then be used to drive membership inside Microsoft 365 Group, simplifying membership management scenarios where membership is already be managed within Security Groups.

With this in-product feature support, end users and admins will be able to add a Security Group or an M365 Group as a member of a Dynamic M365 Group by using the memberOf property.
