On July 27, 2023 Apple updated the Terms and Conditions. Accepting Apple new Terms Conditions is crucial for Intune communication. It ensures seamless integration between Intune and Apple devices, maintaining uninterrupted access to essential features.
Apple sometimes updates the macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and Software License Agreement, often when releasing a new OS version. When a Software License Agreement is updated, an Apple Business Manager Administrator or Apple School Manager Administrator must log into the website to review and agree to the updated terms.
By the information provided in MC660607, Microsoft Intune has introduced a new Plan for Change for the updates Apple will release new Terms and Conditions for Apple Business Manager. An IT admin will need to accept these terms.
It is important to review and understand any updates to the Terms and Conditions of any service you use, including Apple’s, to ensure compliance with their policies and to maintain the expected functionality of integrated services with Intune.

Apple New Terms Conditions Plan for Change
Microsoft recently added MC660607 Plan for change, On July 27, 2023, Apple will release new Terms and Conditions for Apple Business Manager in the Message Center, which you can also see in the Tenant Status Node on the Service Health tab in Intune.
In Intune Admin Center, Tenant Administration > Tenant status. Navigate to the Service health and message center tab, On the Service health dashboard, you can view details for Service incidents that affect your tenant, and Intune news which provides information about updates and planned changes.
To accept Apple new Terms Conditions, You need to navigate to the Portal for acceptance. The administrator will be able to accept the Volume Content Terms on behalf of the entire organization.

Accept Apple Business Manager Terms and Conditions
An IT admin will need to accept these terms when using Apple School Manager, Apple Business Manager, Apple Volume Purchasing Program, or Automated Device Enrollment to ensure that the managed devices can continue communicating with Microsoft Intune.
- Login to ABM https://business.apple.com portal with the Admin role.
- You will be presented with Apple’s new terms and conditions. You can take a read from within the portal or download it as a PDF to read offline and simply by Agree.
Once you have logged in and accepted the new terms and conditions, managed Apple devices will once again be able to communicate with Apple’s device management servers.
Email Notification from Apple Business Manager
The following shows an example email sent when Apple was planning to post an update. Emails sent from Apple to Apple Business Manager from the following sender email address:

- Display name: Apple Business Manager
These emails include an Apple Business Manager Update prefix in the subject line. Here’s the message, On July 27, 2023, Apple will post an updated version of the Volume Content Terms to Apple Business Manager. Once posted, your organization will not be able to enroll devices or deploy new apps until an Administrator signs in to Apple Business Manager and accepts the agreement.
With this update, an Administrator will be able to accept the Volume Content Terms on behalf of the entire organization. Content Managers and Administrators will no longer be prompted to accept the Volume Content Terms in their individual capacities after an Administrator accepts the terms on behalf of the organization.
How Does it affect if you don’t accept Apple New Terms and Conditions
This will only affect you if you use Apple Automated Device Enrollment, Apple School Manager, Apple Business Manager, or Apple Volume Purchase Program. You will need to accept Apple new terms conditions to ensure your Intune service is not interrupted.
If you do not accept the new terms and conditions, the Intune service MDM server might report an error message – “T_C_NOT_Signed” when communicating with Apple’s device management servers. However, these conditions apply until the new agreements are accepted, As per Apple:
- Apple School Manager instructors and managers can reset user passwords and send or print login information, but other site functions will be disabled.
- Apple Business Manager or Apple Business Essentials managers can reset user passwords and send or print login information, but other site functions will be disabled.
- In Apple Business Manager, Apple Business Essentials, and Apple School Manager, you can’t assign new devices to your MDM server, even if you have selected the option to automatically assign new purchases to a specific MDM server.
- Schoolwork users won’t be able to create, update, or delete classes.
