With this administrator can deploy various policies to the Microsoft edge. We know that most of the companies recommend Microsoft edge for users so we have to always prioritize the security for users through the edge and it will help the organization also.
So here we are deploying a policy ‘‘Audio Process High Priority Enabled’‘ in Microsoft Edge using M365 Admin Center. This setting in Microsoft Edge helps improve sound quality by making audio tasks more important on your computer. When enabled, it ensures clearer and smoother audio for video calls, meetings, and media playback.
This helps reduce delays, sound glitches, especially when your computer is busy with multiple tasks. It’s a useful tool for organizations that need good sound quality for meetings, calls, or recordings. So we have to look how this policy to be Enabled and Disabled through M365 Admin Center.

What is the Main Purpose of this Policy?
It is a temporary measure to allow enterprises to run audio at higher priority to help resolve performance issues with audio capture. Also,It controls the priority level of the audio process.
Audio Process High Priority Policy in Microsoft Edge
The discussion above covered various aspects of the Audio Process High Priority Enabled policy, including its behavior when enabled or disabled. Now, let’s discuss how to deploy this policy through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
First, sign into the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, then navigate to Settings > Microsoft Edge> Configuration Policies. Click on the Create Policy option to begin the setup process.

Basics
The next step is Basics, in this section, you need to enter the basic details about the policy, such as the Name and Description. The Name is mandatory and cannot be skipped. It’s recommended to provide an appropriate name that will help you easily identify the policy later. Select the Policy Type as “Intune” and the Platform as Windows 10 and 11.
- Then, click Next to proceed.
Settings
After completing the Basics section, you will move on to the Settings tab. Here, you’ll begin creating a configuration policy for Microsoft Edge. Click on the Add Settings button. This will open the configuration menu where you can choose and configure specific settings for the policy.
Configure Settings
Configure a settings page will allows you to different type of settings, policy. First, you have to enter the policy name to the search bar or find the policy from the different categories here. I search the policy in the search bar and I get the policy and it will allowing a 2 tabs, value tab and more details tab.
In the value tab, you can get a drop down Arrow here you can enable or disable the policy here. I enable the policy and click on the select and now you will get notified, that the policy is successfully updated.
More Details
The More Details section is very important when creating a policy. Always remember to review it carefully, as it provides additional information about the policy. For example, if the policy is deprecated, this information will be mentioned in the More Details tab. So, do not skip this section. You have to Review it carefully and then close the More Details page once you’re done.
Extensions
The next step is the Extensions tab. This step is optional and you can choose to configure it or skip it. In this section, you can manage extensions related to the policy, including those requested from the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store. If you want to add an extension, click on the Add Extension option.
- In my case, I chose to skip this step, so I clicked Next to proceed.
Assignments
The next step is Assignment, which is just as important as the settings. Our aim is to deploy this policy to a specific group, and the Assignment section allows you to do exactly that. Here, you can select the user or device groups that should receive the policy.
- Here I selected Test_HTMD_Policy.
- Then click on the next to continue the process.
Finish – Review Create
The final stage is Finish. Here, you can review all the details you’ve entered, including Basics, Settings, Assignments, and more. If you need to make any changes, you can go back to the relevant tab and edit them easily.
- If everything looks correct and no changes are needed, click on the Review and Create button to complete the process.
Device and User Check-in Status
After creation, our main concern is whether the policy was successfully created and applied. To verify this, you can check the monitoring status ( Device and User Check-in Status) on the target device or user through Microsoft Intune.
To do this, log in to the Microsoft Intune Admin Center, then navigate to Devices > Configuration policies. Search for the policy name you created. Once you find it, click on the policy to view its status. Here, you can see whether the policy was successfully applied or not.

Client – Side Verification
After the Device check in status, now the Administrators can check policy status on individual devices using Windows Event Viewer. To verify client-side compliance, go to Applications and Services Logs > Microsoft > Windows > DeviceManagement-Enterprise-Diagnostics-Provider > Admin, and then filter for Event ID 814.
