Enable Multi-Tenant Content Distribution Support in MS Defender XDR

Requirements
There are some requirements users must follow to enable Multi-Tenant Content Distribution. The following table shows the requirements.

Permissions | Appropriate roles and permissions at the tenant level. |
Delegate Access | Azure B2B or GDAP (CSP Partners only) for at least one other tenant. |
Key Features of Multi-Tenant Content Distribution
Multi-Tenant Content Distribution includes some key features, including Tenant Groups, Synchronizing Content, Scope Assignment, and Future Enhancements. The following list shows the details.
- Tenant Groups – It helps to easily create and manage tenant groups to distribute existing content, such as custom detection rules, across various target tenants.
- Syncing Content – Users can effortlessly sync content among tenant groups, ensuring consistent security policies and detection rules are applied across your entire organization.
- Scope Assignment – Define and customize device groups within each tenant to apply the necessary content and rules precisely where needed.
- Future Enhancements – Initially, Microsoft will support custom detection rules, with plans to include additional content types soon.
How to Create Tenant Groups
You can easily create tenant groups by Visiting the Tenant Groups page in multi-tenant management in Microsoft Defender XDR. Then select Create Tenant Group. After that, enter the tenant group name and description and click on the Next button.
Select Add to add custom detection rules. The Source tenant column displays the tenant the detection rule comes from. Users can choose the detection rules they want to add to the assignment. Then select Next Add to tenant group and click on Next on the Content page.
Select the target tenants for the assignment on the Assign Tenants page, then select Next. For each target tenant, you can opt to select the devices or device groups to include in the scope of the assignment on the Set scope page. Then Click on the Next button.
The next page shows the assignment details. If content needs to be synchronized now, Leave the Sync all authorized tenants option checked, or uncheck it if the sync is planned for later.
