Enable or Disable Microsoft Editor Synonyms Policy in Edge Browser using M365 Admin Center

Let’s discuss Enable or Disable Microsoft Editor Synonyms Policy in Edge Browser using M365 Admin Center. This policy controls the synonym suggestion feature within Microsoft Editor’s spell checker. Microsoft 365 gives you helpful apps, online tools, and strong security. Edge is now the main browser on Windows.

Microsoft Editor, available within the Edge browser as either an extension or a built-in feature, utilizes AI to enhance online writing. It provides comprehensive assistance, including grammar and spelling checks, and also suggests synonyms to improve vocabulary.

Enabling this policy allows the spell checker to offer alternative words, or synonyms when it flags misspelled words. Conversely, disabling or leaving the policy unconfigured prevents the spell checker from providing these synonym suggestions, limiting its assistance to basic spell correction.

Microsoft Editor Synonyms Policy’s functionality is dependent on other spell-checking settings. If SpellcheckEnabled or MicrosoftEditorProofingEnabled features are turned off, either by policy or user preference, this specific policy will not work. Essentially, it only applies when the broader spell-checking capabilities are active.
