Today, I will discuss Microsoft 365 Copilot Agent with Copilot Studio to Improve Your Business Need. By including agents or creating personalized experiences, you can take Microsoft 365 Copilot to the next level.
The copilot enhances work productivity by organizing repetitive tasks such as composing emails and summarizing documents, enabling users to concentrate on more crucial tasks.
Every organisation is unique, so customising AI for specific business needs is critical to getting the most out of it. Microsoft is excited to announce Copilot agents in Microsoft 365 Copilot, an advanced expansion of Copilot technology.
They aim to operate freely, working in the background without manual activation through a conversation. Agents are in all shapes and sizes. Agents can help individual users, teams, and organisations increase their sales, marketing, and customer service skills, allowing users to have a more significant impact.

Copilot Agent with Copilot Studio
Microsoft has revealed new capabilities in Microsoft Copilot Studio for building custom copilots. These copilots act as individual agents who work under your direction to unlock productivity and create new value across various business processes.
- Automate long-running business processes
- Reason over actions and user inputs
- Leverage memory to bring in context
- Learn based on user feedback
- Record exception requests and ask for help
Agents help you get information from data and analyze it to answer questions. Some agents can also act when needed. The most advanced agents can work independently to make plans, coordinate with other agents, and know when to ask an employee for help.
You can use Copilot Studio to create and publish Copilot agents in Microsoft Teams, websites, and mobile apps. Customer adoption is high, with over 50,000 organisations using Copilot Studio. Microsoft announces two new practices for Copilot Studio:

Manage Copilot Agents
AI-supported organisations have several Copilot agents and will have documents or SharePoint sites. Copilot Studio gives trust through clear rules, agent management and access controls. This includes managing, making, sharing, and using agents so that organisations can experience their security, compliance, and governance goals.
The data managed to support agents is secured within the Microsoft 365 trust boundary, following the organization’s guidelines. When developing the agents through Copilot Studio, the data remains in the Microsoft Azure tenant boundary and is protected by security measures. This is based on Microsoft’s Responsible AI and Enterprise Data Protection standards.
Publish Copilot Agents to Microsoft 365 Copilot
Copilot agents can connect to your organization’s data sources, such as SharePoint and Microsoft Dynamics 365, to make Copilot intelligent about your business and developments. They can also use new skills, like sending emails and updating records, and integrate with your presented line of business systems for practical workflow actions by employees and customers.
Users can find Copilot agents in Microsoft 365 Copilot Business Chat, Teams, and the Microsoft 365 app. They can use them by @mentioning them in a chat or interacting directly with them. IT admins can curate the store catalog from the Microsoft 365 admin centre.
Easily Build Your Agent
Generate Conversation: Direct agents to the organization’s websites or internal knowledge base to enhance their ability to answer questions quickly.
Turn Conversations into Actions: Use Power Platform connectors, Power Automate flows, custom topics, and AI prompts to trigger actions from user conversations. The screenshot helps you to show more details.
Bring Your System to Life: Choose from a wide range of prebuilt data connectors for Microsoft and non-Microsoft sources to boost the agent’s efficiency.
Connect Your Agent to Your Services: Organize, prepare, and connect services within Azure, including Azure OpenAI Service, knowledge bases, and foundation models.
Add Agents to Microsoft 365 Copilot
Admins can assign or unassign Copilot agents to specific users or groups using the Microsoft 365 admin center. They can select an app with a Copilot plugin from the Available or Deployed apps list and then choose the Assign or Unassign option.
- This action affects the agent’s availability and functionality in Copilot and other host products such as Outlook, Teams, or Microsoft 365.
