Microsoft has made new KPI Reports available for Expedited Updates and Zero Day patching. This report uses Intune and WUfB deployment services. Now Microsoft is trying to help organizations moving from trading management tools to modern management tools with expedited KPI reports for patching. A new capability is available for system admins to monitor better Key Performance Indicators (KPI) of expedited security updates.
We have already shared about the WUfB (Windows Update for Business) report, the cloud solution integrated with WUfB Deployment Service. At this point, WUfB reports are offered through Azure Portal and M365 Admin Center portal.
The New KPI report is mainly focusing on Expedite patching process, including the zero-day vulnerabilities. This uses the power of Microsoft Intune and the Windows Update for Business deployment service. Windows Update for Business reports
You can use Windows Update for Business reports to check the progress of Windows update deployments and report on devices with compliance issues. Now Microsoft is included, and the latest data is updated date in the Monitoring portal.
The normal frequency of the update is every 24 hours. And we don’t have any option to expedite the update of this report data. Microsoft introduced new KPI reports to improve this experience with WUfB reports.
Where to check New KPI Reports for Expedited Updates?
Let’s understand where to check New KPI Reports for Expedited Updates. It would be best if you opened Azure Monitor workload. You can use the search keyword Monitor from the Azure portal to get into Azure Monitor.
- Navigate to Azure Monitor from Azure portal – Monitor
- Click on Workbook
- Now, let’s open the Workbook called “Windows Update for Business Reports” from the Workbook tab.
Click on the Quality Updates tab to get the KPI card for Expedited Updates Zero Day vulnerability deployment.
KPI Reports for Expedited Updates Zero Day Patches
Microsoft recently announced Expedite KPI in Windows Update for Business reports. This helps organizations to get more visibility on Expedited patch deployments. The new KPI card offering helps to get a quick overview of the installation progress for the latest expedited update for zero-day vulnerability patches.
If you see the following error when you check the KPI card for the latest expedited update, then that means there is not enough data available to produce the KPI matrix. Another point you need to remember is that the reports such as Feature Update won’t work until you enable the Windows Data collection settings from Intune.
