Summarize with Copilot
In the Intune portal, click on policy management, which will walk you through the initial introduction to using Copilot in Intune.
- Click on the Next button in the pop-up window titled “Get help while creating a new policy.”
- Then click on the Got it button on the next pop-up window, “Let Copilot Summarize a policy.”
- Select a created security policy from this window.
To summarize a policy, you can open one created in Intue with Copilot. Here, I am showing an example demonstrated on Ignite 2024. I will select security policies made by the admins about a year ago and start understanding what’s on this policy.
- Click on the Summarize with Copilot button from the below window
- Enter the prompt “Summarize this policy”
Copilot summarises the policy leveraging the Intune plug-in with the power of Security Copilot. Here, you can see the list of the various settings associated with the values. It also provided me with information about the assigned groups included and excluded.
Impact of the Policy on Security
With Security Copilot, you can understand the impact of this particular policy on security. To do this, start by asking Copilot to “Describe the impact of this policy on security.” Sure enough, Copilot understands the context. It will summarize the information and give me actionable, useful insights regarding security.
Furthermore, exploring a particular setting is also possible on Intune. You will notice now that we have a Copilot moniker next to each setting. Clicking on it invokes a prompt that helps you understand more about the policy settings.
So, “Tell me about the policy setting”. In this case, it happens to be blocked, and untrusted and unsigned processes run from USB. Look at the output here; it is getting more relevant information than just text. More importantly, I want to ensure that I will not cause conflicts.
