Let’s discuss how to configure the Telemetry Opt-in Change Notification policy using Intune. The Telemetry Opt in Change Notification policy controls whether notifications appear when changes are made to diagnostic data settings. Notifications will show during the first logon and whenever these settings change.
Diagnostic data, also called telemetry, is important for software providers. It helps improve products by checking performance, fixing issues, and making them easier to use. This data includes information about usage, performance, and error reports.
Enable or leave it unconfigured, the Diagnostic Data Change Notifications (Telemetry Change Notification) policy, users will see notifications about changes to their diagnostic data sharing preferences, both at their first logon and whenever those settings are modified in the Settings app.
Setting this policy to Disable diagnostic data change notification (Disable Telemetry Change Notification) will prevent any alerts from appearing when diagnostic data sharing settings are altered. This guide shows how to configure the Telemetry Opt-in Change Notification policy in Microsoft Intune, covering its setup, monitoring, and device verification.
