To start Patch My PC, you must create an account in the Patch My PC portal (full-blown trial). You can also create a trial Subscription of My PC. Visit Patch My PC and sign in. Then, you have to complete the Request form by filling out the necessary details for the trial Subscription.

  • Get the 30 day trial version – by going to Portal.PatchMyPC.com
  • Click on Sign UP

Creating a Trial Account on Patch My PC Cloud

After filling out the Request form, Sign in to the Patch My PC portal with your Microsoft account. You can also use another Account to Sign in.

After that, you can fill out your Company and User Information to explore Patch My PC features. Here, you must select the location where your company’s data will be stored, enter the Company name and Country, and then click the Continue button. In the User information, enter your First and Last Name.

  • Click on the Check box near Accept all Terms and Conditions

Connecting Microsoft Intune Tenant

To connect your Intune Tenant, you can complete some more steps on Patch My PC. After completing the Company and Personal Info, you will get a Feature Parity Notice.

Then, you will get the Permission requested window. Admin must accept the following permissions to continue to Patch My PC Cloud. The table below shows the permissions required on Patch My PC.

If you accept, this app will access the specified resources for all users in your organization. No one else will be prompted to review these permissions. Accepting these permissions means allowing this app to use your data as specified in its terms of service and privacy statement.

You will get a new window that shows Intune Connected Successfully. You can Activate your license to unlock full access to all features and functionalities (for 30 30-day trial period). You can choose Enterprise Premium Trial or Enter License Key to do this. Here, I select Premium Enterprise Trial.

  • Choose the number of Managed Devices in Production
  • Click on the Start Now button
  • You will get another window that shows the expiration date of your trial

Add Additional Admins to Patch My PC Cloud SaaS Solution via Settings

Add additional admins to Patch My PC Cloud SaaS Solution via Settings. The Patch My PC Settings window will help you add your preferred settings for your company. You can also Invite Users via Patch My PC Settings.

  • Click on the Invite User option.

In the window below, enter the user’s First and Last Name. Then, enter the user’s email, select the Role for your User, and click on the Invite button.

After that, you can set up your Company with appropriate details. Your Company Name, Billing Email, and Country will be generated, and you can enable the Customer Support toggle.

  • Click on the Save button.
  • You will get a Success Message Notification on the Patch My PC portal as “Company Information Updated.”

You can edit your environment in the Settings window. Select the Environment option from Settings, click the three-dot option, and select Edit Environment from the context menu.

Enter your Environment Name and click on the Save Button. Here, the Environment Name is HTMD Community Test LAB.

Branding is an important setting on the Patch My PC Settings. Here, you can Brand the Intune app name and Upload the Company Logo. Configuring branding will create an app in Intune that will be assigned to all devices. The app will deploy the branding configuration to all your devices.

App Configuration on Patch My PC Cloud

The most important advantage of Patch My PC Cloud is that it helps admins create and Deploy various Applications to their Microsoft Intune Tenant. Select the App Catalog option on the Patch My PC tenant. Here, I chose the IPassword application for my Intune Tenant.

The deployment procedure for Patch My PC Cloud SaaS solution is similar to Microsoft Intune’s deployment. So Intune admins can easily complete the deployment.

  • You can see the Display Name in the General Information tab and select the Language.

Select the Installer Type (.MSI or .EXE) from this window. Click on the Next button.

Next is the Configurations tab, which shows the Install Scripts. In the Install Scripts, you can add the Pre-Install and Post-Install scripts.

In the Uninstall Scripts, you can ass Pre Uninstall and Post Uninstall scripts. Select the Check box near the Allow Available Uninstall. If you want to uninstall the selected app, Click the Next button to continue.

Next is the Assignment section. Here, you can add Assignments. Click on the Add Assignment button and select the Add Available option.

Select Existing Groups to get the 1Password Application on Intune using Patch My PC Cloud. This window allows you to search for existing Groups. Select the Group and Click on the Save button.

In the Assignment section, you can also select the Filter option to add a filter for the app you chose on Microsoft Intune. Click on the Filter option.

Select your Filter name from the window below and select the include or exclude option. Here, I chose the Cloud Pcs filter and selected the Include option. Then, click on the Save button.

After that, your App Deployment procedure is almost completed. To Complete the Deployment, click the Deploy button on the Summary tab. As you know, you can also review all the steps in the Deployment stage in Intune.

After clicking the Deploy option, you will get the Success Message Notification on Patch My PC Cloud Tenant. The deployment will only be successful if you complete each step appropriately.

Monitor App Deployment from Patch My PC Cloud on Intune Tenant

After completing the App Deployment on Patch My PC Cloud Tenant, you must Monitor it on your Microsoft Intune admin Center Portal. If the deployment is successful, you can use the 1Password application on your Intune Tenant for selected groups.

  • Sign in to the Microsoft Intune Admin portal.
  • Select Apps > Windows Apps
  • Search the Deployed App on this Window
  • Here, you can see the 1Password app deployed Successfully on your Intune Tenant.
