Enable Disable Hide Restore Dialog Policy in MS Edge Browser using M365 Admin Center

Today, I will discuss how to enable disable Hide Restore Dialog Policy in MS Edge Browser using M365 Admin Center. The Microsoft 365 admin center lets you manage your cloud-based business, including users, licenses, and passwords, with specialized workspaces for advanced control.

This policy controls whether Microsoft Edge shows the Restore pages dialog after a crash. If you enable this policy, Edge will not display the dialog and will open a new tab page instead of restoring your previous tabs. If you disable this policy or do not set it, the Restore pages dialog will appear. This gives you the option to recover your last browsing session.

We have a blog post about enabling the Clear Browsing Data on Exit option using the Intune Settings Catalog. When you close the browser, this feature deletes cookies, cache, and browsing history. It helps protect your privacy and makes it easy to manage your online activity.

HideRestoreDialog Policy works with other Edge settings. To make the Restore pages feature function correctly, do not turn on the ClearBrowsingDataOnExit or SavingBrowserHistoryDisabled options. These settings prevent the browsing history from saving, preventing the Restore pages dialog from working.
