The Device assignment status report helps you see whether a device configuration profile has been successfully applied to the devices you assigned it to. You can open this report by selecting the Device assignment status button on the profile’s Overview page. It shows the latest status for each assigned device, such as Succeeded, Pending, Error, or Not applicable.

Intune Policy Device Assignment Status Report to View Latest Deployment Status for Each Managed Device
The Device Assignment Status report helps you check the latest deployment status of a configuration profile on the devices it is assigned to. To view this report, sign in to the Microsoft Intune admin center, go to Devices > Windows > Configuration, and select the required configuration profile. In this example, we selected the Automatic Lock for Inactive Windows Devices policy.

Device Assignment Status Report
After you select the policy, the Device and user check-in status page opens. Here, you can see a summary of the policy deployment status. In this example, the Succeeded count is 2, and there are no devices with Error, Conflict, Not applicable, or In progress status. This gives you a quick overview of how the policy has been deployed.
To view more information, click View report. The Device Assignment Status report displays all the devices targeted by the policy, including devices that have successfully received the policy as well as devices that are still in a pending policy assignment state. This detailed report helps you identify the deployment status for each device.

View Detailed Device and User Check-in Status Report
Click View report on the Device and user check-in status page to open the detailed report. This report displays all devices targeted by the policy along with their Device name, Logged in user, Check-in status, and Last report modification time. It also provides a summary of the deployment results, including the number of devices with Succeeded, Error, Conflict, Not applicable, and In progress status.
In this example, the report shows 2 successful policy deployments with no errors, conflicts, or pending devices. You can use the Search box to find a specific device or user, apply the Check-in status filter to narrow the results, and use the Export option to download the report for further analysis or troubleshooting.

Generate the Device Assignment Status Report
When you open the Device Assignment Status report for the first time, it is empty because the report has not been generated yet. Select the required Assignment status filter, or leave the default selection, and then click Generate report. Intune will collect the latest deployment information and display the results. Depending on the amount of data, the report may take a few minutes to generate. Once it is created, the report remains available for 72 hours, after which you need to generate it again to view the latest device assignment status.

Review the Generated Device Assignment Status Report
After the report is generated, Intune displays a confirmation message indicating that the Device Assignment Status Report was created successfully. The report also shows the date and time it was generated. In this example, the report contains 1 targeted device, and the deployment status shows Success: 1, with 0 Pending, 0 Error, 0 Conflict, and 0 Not applicable.
You can also use the Search, Export, and Columns options to find specific devices, download the report, or customize the information displayed. If you need the latest deployment results after 72 hours, click Generate again to refresh the report.

Generated Device Assignment Status Report Shows Device Details
The Generated Device Assignment Status Report also provides detailed information for each targeted device. It includes the Device name, Last active user, Assignment status, Last report modification time, Intune Device ID, Microsoft Entra Device ID, Model, Platform, and Microsoft Entra User ID. These details help administrators verify which device received the policy, identify the assigned user, confirm the deployment status, and collect device information for troubleshooting or auditing purposes.

View Detailed Policy Settings for a Device
Clicking a Device name in the Device Assignment Status Report opens the Policy Settings page for that device. This page shows the status of each setting included in the configuration profile. In this example, both Device Password Enabled and Max Inactivity Time Device Lock have a Succeeded status, which means the settings were successfully applied to the selected device. If any setting fails, the page also displays the Error code to help you troubleshoot the issue.

Customise the Device Assignment Status Report Columns
The Columns option lets you customise the information displayed in the Device Assignment Status Report. You can choose which columns to show or hide based on the details you want to view. Customising the displayed columns helps you quickly find the information you need without displaying unnecessary details in the report.

Export the Device Assignment Status Report
The Export option allows you to download the Device Assignment Status Report as a CSV (.csv) file for offline review or sharing. When you click Export, Intune displays a confirmation message explaining that all selected columns, rows, and any applied filters will be included in the exported file. Click Yes to start the export or No to cancel the action. Exporting the report is useful for creating records, performing further analysis in Microsoft Excel, or sharing deployment results with your team.

Confirm the Report Export Was Successful
After you click Yes, Intune exports the Device Assignment Status Report and displays a notification confirming that the export was completed successfully. The Export succeeded message appears in the Notifications pane, indicating that the report has been generated and is ready for download.

I have 500+ configuration policies in our environment. When i conduct internal audit, i could not see endpoint count for each policy from home page. I mean i have to select each and every policy to see the assigned endpoint count. Is there a way where i can get all policy details with assigned endpoint count.
