How to Enable Disable Wake on LAN in Windows 11

Let’s learn how to enable and disable Wake on LAN in Windows 11. The Wake on LAN feature wakes the device from a low sleep mode when a network adapter detects a Wake on LAN event, such as a magic packet sent over the network.

In simple terms, Wake on LAN is a feature that permits a computer to be turned on or awakened from sleep mode by a network message. There are various methods to disable Wake on LAN in Windows 11.

Wake on LAN is an Ethernet networking standard that allows a network message to turn a computer on or wake up from a low-power state. This “magic packet” message is sent to the target computer from a Wake on LAN-enabled device over the network.

An Ethernet networking standard allows a properly configured network computer to be turned on or awakened by a network message. Wake on LAN is an industry-standard protocol for remotely waking computers up from a low-power mode.
